is here to help you:
- understand the implementation
of Sheffield's Air Quality Action Plan
- find who else maybe
working in similar areas to you and who may share your interests
- gain access to new
information regarding air quality
The toolkit is just
a starting point - it will point you many directions!
This piece of work was commissioned by the City Council to examine the feasibility of implementing the actions contained within the City's Air Quality Action Plan. We also wished to assess the next steps that we need to take the actions forward.
Many of the actions are underway, to a greater or lesser degree, and there are others that are being developed that are not included in our original plan. This illustrates the very dynamic nature of the work that is taking place and shows that the formal plans need periodic review to reflect the changes.
The emphasis now is implementation. The challenge will be to keep up to date with these actions and this is why we have developed the Sheffield Air Map (press the button below), to provide an easily accessible and interactive account of those activities taking place in the city that will benefit air quality. Through this Map and web site we want to encourage individuals and groups to learn from the experience of others and feel inspired to contribute.
If we are to bring about lasting improvements in air quality then it is crucial that everyone plays their part.
